Comic 070 - Discuss

Postby Talthos » Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:02 am

Comic 070 is up!

Check it out here!

So, this was a two-part. One, you get to see Silkspinner begin to get some education on the Star Trek universe (which she is severely lacking) by Talesh.

Two, we pay homage to the Tribble episodes.

For reference, I had to hunt down a copy of each of the episodes: "Trouble with Tribbles" and "Trials and Tribble-ations". Then, I had to get Silk to watch them, and explain what was going on.

The first time she saw Shatner act as Kirk, she was all like: "OMG is that how he acted? That's horrible!"

Welcome to Star Trek. Another fan is born.

Discuss in this thread.

I always assumed that Shatner's horrible overacting was...well, horribly overacted for comedy's sake. Yeeeeh.

You don't have to be a trekkie to enjoy the "Trouble with Tribbles" bit. It was pretty amusing in its own right.

Oh no, Shatner's acting was no joke, nor was Rocketman, nor was TJ Hooker, that doesn't stop the man from being a national treasure.

On a similar note, I was kind of surprised he didn't have some sort of cameo in the new Trek movie, he was just as iconic in the series as Spock.
You were deafened.
At last you could hear.
You were broken.
You were made whole.
You were blinded.
And...at last...you saw.

I don't...understand. You're very right, but...TRULY...Spock is...eternal. *dramatic hand gesturing*

To be fair, he doesn't have to be from the nation he lives in to be a national treasure to it. ;)

Borg Klingons, eh? With the klingon warrior culture and the borg's constant assimilation speech I imagine them sounding like a combination of duelists and drill sergeants. On repeat. :P
"Pick up that Bath'leth and face me!"
"You will become a perfect warrior! Resistance will be punished!"
"Drop and give me 20!"

Well, if the tribbles eat all the food, can't you eat the tribbles? Or are they inedible?
Ok, I can understand if people are disinclined to eat them because they are cute, but if it's that or starve?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong here:
ST:TOS is The Original Series
ST:TNG is the The Next Generation
ST:V is Voyager
ST:DS9 is Deep Space Nine

I assume the films have acronyms too... Like TWOK for The Wrath of Khan and so on.

...Oooookaaaaaay.

When it was explained I thought: supercute! But then seeing them all together... O.O

Where's mah tribble hunting rifle. 8D

Can you eat them? You know, like rabbits?
Dwarf and Proud, baby.

Planning to make a Worgen Balance Druid in Cataclysm. Her name will be Kyatto. I'm very aware that's bastardized Japanese for cat. xD
